Meet our dedicated team member, Mrs. Brooke Martin, a valued addition to Hillsdale Local Schools and your go-to support as our district's Military Family Liaison. As the spouse of John, an active-duty United States Air Force member, Brooke intimately understands the sacrifices inherent in military life.

Hailing from Ashland, Ohio, Brooke is a proud Hillsdale K-12 graduate, having graduated in 2004. The strong ties to this community extend through four generations, with Brooke and John's daughters proudly carrying on the legacy as the latest up-and-coming graduates. All four daughters actively engage in extracurricular activities, showcasing a deep-rooted commitment to the school.

Beyond the school's walls, Brooke finds joy in softball, singing, and cherishing moments with her children. Describing herself as dependable, Brookes's values center around serving others.

Brooke has navigated a unique path, having managed bridal stores for seven years before embracing the role of a stay-at-home mom. As their children entered school, Brooke transitioned into a full-time position within Hillsdale Local Schools in 2022, currently serving as a 5/6 educational aide.

Coming from a multigenerational military family, Brooke brings a wealth of understanding and empathy to her role. Her personal experiences make her a valuable resource for other military families in the district, providing insight and support. As your Military Family Liaison, Brooke is here to assist and guide you through the educational journey within Hillsdale Local Schools.

Honoring Those Who Serve

At Hillsdale Local Schools, we take great pride in demonstrating our unwavering support for veterans and currently serving service members through a series of impactful events. These initiatives not only showcase our gratitude but also foster a sense of community and appreciation for those who have dedicated themselves to service.

Patriot Night Football Game: The varsity football team hosted a Patriot Night Football Game, a special occasion veterans were recognized and honored. Players proudly wore military-themed jersies, symbolizing their deep respect for those who have served.

Eagle Scout Service Project and Dedication: In front of our event entrance stands a 2023 Eagle Scout Service Project by Hillsdale student Lance Tucker, a lasting dedication that pays homage to the commitment and sacrifices of our military. This project serves as a visible reminder of our gratitude and respect.

Service Projects Throughout the Year: Engaging in service projects is a year-round commitment for us. From writing heartfelt letters to troops to gathering donations, these initiatives allow us to actively contribute and express our appreciation for the dedication of our service members.

Veterans Day Program and Breakfast: Our annual Veterans Day Program is a highlight, featuring a guest speaker, band and choir performances, and the attendance of grades 5-12. This event is a powerful tribute to the sacrifices made by veterans and provides an educational experience for our students. Following the program, we host a Veterans Breakfast, where students take pride in serving the meal and drinks.

3rd-Grade Music Program: Additionally, our 3rd-grade students present a special Veterans Day music program, honoring each branch of the military and expressing gratitude to all veterans.

These events stand as a testament to our commitment to recognizing, honoring, and supporting our veterans and active-duty service members throughout the year. We believe in the power of these moments to unite our community and instill a deep sense of appreciation for those who have served our nation.
