Open Enrollment

Ohio law, along with the Hillsdale Board of Education board policy, allows parents/guardians from other Ohio school districts to apply and enroll their children in the Hillsdale Local School District rather than their district of residence by completing an open enrollment application and being approved by the Hillsdale District.

Such enrollment will be free of any tuition obligation, provided that all provisions of the Hillsdale District's policy and all procedures outlined in the administrative guidelines are met, including capacity limits by building, grade level, and educational programs, and maintaining appropriate racial balances in each school.

Open Enrollment Application Information

Forms must be filed with the Hillsdale Local School District, between March 1 and April 15 of the school year preceding the school year for which open enrollment is filed.

Applications postmarked before March 1 or after April 15 will be rejected. The Superintendent may consider applications submitted after the deadline if a special need exists.
