School Board Candidates NEEDED!

At the July 14 board meeting, incumbent board members Dave Bartter and Steve Smith announced that they are not running for reelection on the November ballot.  Their current terms continue through December 2015.  The two seats on the November ballot are for 4-year terms from 2016-2020.  Please consider this opportunity to serve your community by running for one of these seats.  To appear on the ballot, you need to obtain a petition from the Board of Elections, get 25 signatures of registered voters in our district (more than 25 is recommended so you can be sure to have 25 valid ones), and return the petition to the Board of Elections by August 5 along with a $30 filing fee.  The Ohio School Boards Association is hosting a candidate workshop on Saturday July 25th from 10 am to 2 pm, if you are interested in knowing more about the responsibilities of serving.

Thank you to Dave and Steve for their service - the current Board has done much to work with the community in an effort to secure a future for Hillsdale.  We appreciate the efforts of our current, and past Board members, and are grateful to our community for the support shown in our recent levy campaigns as well.  We need individuals who are passionate about Hillsdale and desire to see opportunities grow for our children - please consider serving - remember August 5th is the deadline to submit a petition for the November ballot!
