Dear Hillsdale Community,

As I mark my 100th day as your Superintendent, I am filled with gratitude and enthusiasm for the journey we have embarked on together. This milestone is not just a reflection of my time in this role but a testament to our collective efforts in shaping the future of our schools.

Highlights of Our First 100 Days:

  • Building Relationships: I have had the pleasure of meeting many of you – teachers, parents, students, and community leaders. Your insights and stories have been invaluable in understanding our district's unique needs and strengths. I greatly appreciate the warm welcome and continued support not just to me as the superintendent but to my entire family. We are now Falcons!
  • Focusing on Student Success: We have launched new initiatives to enhance student learning and well-being. As a staff, we are committed to providing the interventions and support needed to make every student successful at Hillsdale. We also continue to implement new curriculum with a focus on continuous growth.
  • Strengthening Community Ties: We have sought to create more community engagement and collaboration opportunities, understanding that it takes a village to raise a child. Our strategic planning committee is working hard this year to ensure we are listening to the students, staff, and community input to make Hillsdale an even better school. Our senior citizen breakfast continues to be a monthly highlight for many.

Challenges and Learning Experiences:

  • Every journey comes with its challenges, and these 100 days have been no exception. There have been some growing pains moving into a new building, but we are learning how to adjust and enjoy this beautiful new campus.

Looking Ahead:

  • Our focus remains steadfast on providing the highest quality education and creating an environment where every student can thrive. We will continue to work through our strategic planning to ensure every aspect of our focus is in continually making Hillsdale a top-notch school district.

As we continue this journey, I am reminded of the African proverb, “If you want to go fast, go alone. If you want to go far, go together.” Together, we will go far in ensuring the success and well-being of every student in our district.

Thank you for your continued support and collaboration.

Sincerely,

Cathy Trevathan
