Hillsdale to Host ALICE Safety Training to Strengthen Community Preparedness
JEROMESVILLE, Ohio — Hillsdale Local Schools will welcome safety leaders from across the region July 21 and 22 as the district hosts ALICE Instructor Certification Training, a nationally recognized program focused on preparedness and response during critical safety incidents.
The two-day training, led by the ALICE Training Institute and offered through Navigate360, equips participants with proactive, age-appropriate strategies designed to help individuals make informed decisions during emergencies.
Rather than relying on a single response method, ALICE training emphasizes awareness, communication, and situational decision-making — similar to how drivers adjust based on road conditions instead of following one fixed route.
Participants who complete the course earn instructor certification, allowing them to bring training and resources back to their schools, workplaces, and community organizations.
Building Confidence Through Preparation
The goal of the program is simple: empower people with knowledge and options so they can respond safely while waiting for first responders to arrive.
The training aligns with recommendations from national safety agencies, including the Federal Bureau of Investigation and the Federal Emergency Management Agency.
Who Should Attend
This training is designed for:
- School and district staff
- First responders and safety personnel
- Healthcare providers
- Business leaders
- Faith-based organizations
- Community partners
Registration Details
Participants must register in advance through the official ALICE Training website. Certification includes access to resources, materials, and ongoing support.
