Hillsdale Mourns the Loss of a Student
JEROMESVILLE, Ohio — The Hillsdale Local Schools community is mourning the loss of Mason Chandler, a preschool student at Hillsdale, who recently passed away.
The district is asking families to keep Mason’s loved ones in their thoughts.
Mason was a cherished part of our Hillsdale family, and the loss of such a joyful spirit is felt throughout our community.
“We are devastated by this loss,” Preschool Director Becky Hartsel said. “Our hearts are with the family, and we ask that the community keep them close in their thoughts.”
The family has requested privacy at this time. Should opportunities arise for our school community to offer support, Hillsdale will share that information.
The Hillsdale community is known for its care and compassion. In this moment of sorrow, the district is grateful for the strength found in neighbors supporting one another.
As school is not in session, on-site counseling support is limited; however, the district encourages families or staff to reach out if they need guidance in finding additional resources.
