Miss Witmer Named September Employee of the Month

JEROMESVILLE, Ohio — When Miss Lyndsay Witmer sees an opportunity to make things better for students, she doesn't just talk about it. She gets to work.

A Hillsdale High School alumna, Grade 7 Intervention Specialist, and girls' soccer coach, Miss Witmer has been named the district's September Employee of the Month in recognition of the care, initiative and teamwork she brings to her students and colleagues.

“[Principal quote],” said Mr. Tim Keib, 7-12 Principal.

That spirit has been evident in Miss Witmer's work throughout the years. She helped turn an initial idea for a Disability Awareness Fair into a schoolwide event designed to help students better understand and appreciate the experiences of people with disabilities.

She has also stepped in to support colleagues when needed, including completing IEP meetings and ETRs to help a fellow staff member.

Colleagues have praised Miss Witmer for working collaboratively, keeping students' needs at the center of decisions, and being willing to lend a hand when it matters.

Her work reflects an important part of what makes a school community strong: people who care about students, support one another and are willing to take an idea from a starting point to something that benefits others.

Superintendent Cathy Trevathan and Principal Keib surprised Miss Witmer during the school day September 10 with a bouquet and certificate, with students there to celebrate the moment.

Congratulations, Miss Witmer! Thank you for the difference you make for students and for the people who work alongside you. We are proud to have you in the #FALCONflock!
