JEROMESVILLE (10/25/21)--Students in Mrs. Infante's 7th-grade science class practiced the Periodic Table in a unique way this fall.
Copies of the Periodic Table were taped to the wall of one end of the gym. Broken into teams, one student from each ran to the end of the gym and memorized as much as they could about the table.
They then ran back to the other end of the gym where another student was waiting to write down the dictated information on a blank copy of the table. Students could only write down what they were told and could only write while the other student was beside them.
Students could run back to the copy of the Periodic Tables as often as they needed to. After one minute, though, students switched roles.
Students were scored on their completed tables. Bonus points were given for an element that was complete: the name of the element was spelled correctly, included the symbol, mass and number on the table.
A third student on the team was the "rester." They watched from the seats while their two teammates played.
