An Update From The Superintendent

March 13, 2020

Dear Hillsdale Families,

During this unprecedented situation with the COVID-19 pandemic, it is our administration’s goal to present an educational plan that allows the district to maintain its graduation on May 24 and the last day of school on May 28 as scheduled.

To that end, we would like to recognize the awesome job our faculty is doing. They have worked diligently and quickly, putting together lessons that students can work on from home during this extended school closure. Lessons are in print-format packets and/or online/web-based assignments.

Thank you in advance for your great support in helping your students’ achieve these educational goals.

We would also like to extend appreciation to our staff for all the hard work they have put in. Among other things, they have put in place a plan that continues to provide breakfast and lunch to our students who are on free or reduced lunches during the closure.

During the school closure staff will be performing thorough cleaning routines of all areas.

Please note that until further notice all school-sponsored activities are postponed or canceled, including athletic practices. As of 3 p.m. Monday only those with permission will be allowed on campuses.

We understand these are challenging times and that families likely have questions. We ask for patience from the community as everything is finalized. Information will continue to be distributed as soon as it is available.

Please make sure your contact information is current for our One Call Now messaging system. Check our district webpage and sign up for email notifications, listed as Newsletter, if you are not already receiving them, for more in depth information to be sent to you. Reach out to others you know to make sure they are aware of these communications methods. If you need assistance with getting signed up for either, please reach out to the Superintendent’s secretary Becky Austin at 419-368-8502. Please direct all additional inquiries to the central office, as well.

Sincerely,

Steve Dickerson
