Hillsdale Announces Date Changes

JEROMESVILLE (3/24/20)—Hillsdale Local Schools announces the following important information.

The district will be honoring the originally scheduled Spring Break from April 6 through April 13.

The Food Service and Transportation departments will now be providing an extra breakfast and lunch delivery Friday, April 3, to help cover students’ nutritional needs during Spring Break for district students and their siblings who have signed up.

With the current need for social distancing, the district requests families remain in their homes when the vans arrive for the drop off of food, for the safety of all concerned.

Families who have not signed up for the meals may still do so by either calling 419-368-8517 or filling out the request form at www.hillsdale.k12.oh.us/breakfast-lunch-delivery-request-during-2020-school-closure-due-pandemic or find the link on each building’s and the athletic landing page.

Currently 257 children are receiving deliveries on Tuesdays and Thursdays, providing two meals a day for each weekday.

The district wishes to warmly recognize Frito Lay for its donation of 6,000 snack-size bags of their snacks and an anonymous donor who contributed financially to the current food distribution. Such community outreach is greatly appreciated.

The district recognizes its staff and teachers, noting the supreme job they are doing in helping to keep services and learning operational during the pandemic.

In addition, the district expresses its appreciation to students and their families for their support, cooperation and patience as all involved navigate the unfamiliar terrain of conducting school from remote locations.

As this remains a fluid situation, families and community members are encouraged to follow updates being posted to the school’s COVID-19 page at www.hillsdale.k12.oh.us/district/hillsdale-schools-closure-updates.
