Teachers to Receive Vaccine

JEROMESVILLE (2/17/21)--The first round of COVID-19 vaccinations for the Hillsdale Schools' staff remains on track for Friday, February 19. This was one of several items that was needed before a full return of students five days a week.

The date, time and management of the vaccinations are being handled by Drug Mart, who will be providing the vaccine. Schools were provided with little say about the appointments.

All Ashland County school districts are receiving the vaccine at one of two locations on the same day. Hillsdale, Loudonville and the Ashland County-West Holmes Career Center staff amounting to roughly 256 individuals were assigned to the Career Center. Staff selected an available time slot between the hours of 7 AM to 3 PM for the vaccination.

As was announced on February 12, all classes will be held remotely on February 19 and the Falcon Learning Center will not be available.

The learning expectations on that day remain the same as all of the district's scheduled remote days. Teachers will share with their students and/or families the lessons that are to be completed. Students should check their emails if needed.

Please note that it may be necessary to operate remotely again for the second round of vaccines. That date has not yet been set by Drug Mart.
